Traceability

Traceability enhances your business.

Every Unigrà’s product line is fully traceable.

Why did we choose to do this? Traceability refers to the path of food throughout the chain, from the production of raw materials to the finished product, whilst reverse traceability is a bottom-up process: thus, both of them are key tools to protect the customer, by promptly intervening in the case of any non-compliance. This is a protection both for the customer and your business.

Unigrà manages an in-house supply chain for some products and uses carefully selected third-party suppliers, with whom establishes partnerships. In both cases, the company demands a prompt reaction by the chain in the case of any non-compliance.

Traceability and Supply Chain

Upstream Supply Chain

At Unigrà the procurement of raw materials is always carried out in compliance with ethic and environmental principles. As regards cocoa, we hold the UTZ certification, for food palm oil we hold the RSPO sustainability certificate and for palm oil for energy use we both implement the German sustainability voluntary scheme (ISSC-EU) and the Italian national sustainability scheme (SNC).

Upstream Supply Chain

The raw materials imported are unloaded at the port of Ravenna: this proximity to Unigrà’s facility enables our lorries to cover short distances and will lead to a reduction of traffic thanks to the activation of a specific coastal depot.

Downstream Supply Chain

In addition to the steady increase of waste sorting and the recovery of waste managed externally, Unigrà constantly invests in research to find new solutions: one example is represented by the new plants to further reduce the pressure exercised on the in-house disposal plant.
Product withdrawal / recall procedures are almost fully automated. Only some phases still require manual operations.

Le procedure di ritiro / richiamo del prodotto sono gestite in maniera quasi completamente automatizzata. Solo alcune fasi richiedono ancora operazioni manuali.
